ABOUT US AT WELLWOOD WALLACE
Wellwood Wallace, is a modest Australian business enterprise devoted to growing walnut trees in the old fashioned organic way, and to using walnuts to make walnut oil and walnut flour.
The picture below shows a few of our walnut trees after the 2010 harvest.

We sell first class fresh vacuum packed walnuts. We vacuum pack the shelled walnuts on the day they are cracked to keep them particularly fresh for walnut oil making and for the table. Our walnut oil is cold pressed so that it retains its delicate nutty flavour and preserves the vitamins found in the nuts.
The Wellwood walnut orchard is at 145 Westcotts Road, Wallace 3352, which is near Ballarat, Victoria, Australia. Work on the orchard began nearly twenty years ago. The trees are still growing in spite of the dry conditions of the last few years.
We sell the walnut shell left over from walnut cracking for a variety of purposes.
Wallace is one of the coldest parts of Victoria in Winter and so is good for walnut trees which need that sort of climate.
We used to breed Embden geese. They would graze beneath
the walnut trees and swim in the dams.
Mature Embden geese typically lay less than a dozen eggs a year and so
are not usually bred for their eggs. Because they feed mainly on grass we thought they would be ideal for keeping the grass
short under the walnut trees, which is why we got them. The problem is they do not eat weeds or tall grass and they break some of the irrigation sprinklers.
We looked after our geese, but they have not been a commercial success and so we have now sold some and given away others. By the way, goose eggs are about three times the size of hen eggs
and are said to make superb fluffy omelettes but with a very high cholesterol content.
